Steve Wheeler

Helping People Heal is our Mission. Dr Wheeler is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School (1976), a board-certified Neurologist (1983), Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN, 1995) and Fellow of the American Headache Society (FAHS, 2007). He followed his Neurology Residency (University of Miami) with a Muscular Disease Association (MDA) Jerry Lewis Neuromuscular Disease Research Fellowship at Washington University (1981). He taught full time at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Case Western Reserve University where he was Chief Neuromuscular Disease Division and Co-Director of the Muscle Disease Center and Laboratory. Subsequently, he spent many years as Voluntary faculty at the University of Miami. During this time, he became a headache expert, wrote many headache articles and wrote book chapters on headaches in children and adults. However, conventional medicine seemed grossly superficial and seemed to represent the “pill for every ill” model so after intense introduction to Functional Medicine he changed his practice (2011) and has never looked back. He is interested in true root cause analysis and helps guide patients in this direction.
