Lucien Demaris

My somatic and embodiment work focuses on disrupting the oppressive over-corrective tendencies of the culture of individual heroic perfectionism permeating mainstream healing, and other therapeutic and somatic frames. I infuse my somatic work with what we know of deep ecological and organismic transformation: aka neuroplasticity, connection and learning. I focus on the emotional aspects of our somatic experience, the somatic-patterns of distress and trauma, and in the easeful practices we can cultivate to heal and transform. My work is grounded on a relational somatics understanding: trauma-informed and co-regulation-informed. I bring to my work over two decades of experience in supporting and facilitating somatic transformation and healing.
