Erin Kamada OTR/L, CMT empathizes with those suffering from chronic pain and dysfunction after enduring many injuries during her career as a jockey in thoroughbred horse racing. Myofascial release aided her recovery from a final injury and back surgery, allowing her to complete her MA in occupational therapy in 2002 at New York University. She saw the wholistic basis of occupational therapy as a natural progression of her extensive experience developing racehorses and training herself for competition, and uses this approach to clients: considering all aspects that impact a client's function and wellness- physical, environmental, emotional and spiritual. In doing so, she has found John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release Approach to be the most effective method to address the sources of pain and restriction that can compromise a client's overall function and engagement in life. She has trained extensively with John Barnes PT in order to bring these benefits to help people - even if they've been told "˜nothing else can be done'.
